The Best Laid Plans...
At around 11:30pm Wednesday night, we began the series of procedures to induce labor. However, things did not go as planned, and within 45 minutes two doctors, scores of nurses and Carrie’s gurney were sprinting to the Operating Room.
Carrie and Jackson were rushed into an emergency Cesarean Section, Mark worked through a small cardiac event, and then joined them.
The induction had caused Jackson to go into critical distress, his heart rate dropping from 170 to 80 in seconds. The working theory is that he was contracting into the umbilical cord, and pinching off his air and blood supply.
But fear not. Jackson and Carrie are fine. Mark’s blood pressure is expected to return to normal by April at the latest.
She is currently at Saint Barnabas Hospital, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, N.J (973) 322-5000. 3rd floor, Room 3202B.
